The everyday ritual

Your daily ritual, dialled in.

Good coffee does not need to be complicated. Start here, taste as you go, and keep the little adjustments you enjoy.

18 gCoffee
300 mlFresh water

A starting point for filter coffee and French press. Scale both amounts together for more cups. Espresso uses a different ratio.

Medium grind · Around 2½–3½ minutes

Pour-over

  1. Rinse the paper filter with hot water and discard the rinse water.
  2. Add 18 g of medium-ground coffee. Gently level the bed.
  3. Add enough hot water to wet the grounds. Wait 30–45 seconds.
  4. Pour slowly in circles, bringing the total water to 300 ml. Let it draw down, then enjoy.
Coarse grind · Four-minute steep

French press

  1. Add 18 g of coarsely ground coffee to your press.
  2. Pour in 300 ml of hot water and stir gently.
  3. Place the lid on and steep for four minutes.
  4. Press slowly, then pour into your cup. Avoid leaving the brewed coffee in the press.

Let your taste lead the way.

If your coffee tastes sharp or thin, try a slightly finer grind. If it tastes harsh or drying, try a little coarser. Change one thing at a time. Your favourite recipe is the one you want to make again.

Keep coffee sealed in a cool, dry place, away from light and strong smells. If you choose whole bean, grind just before brewing.
